Our Central Mission
Restoring all people within our reach to unity with God and each other through Jesus Christ.
We pursue our mission through prayer and worship, the proclamation and teaching of the Gospel, and the promotion of justice, peace, and love.
Our Episcopal Mission
We are a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, a member of the Episcopal Church USA, which in turn belongs to the worldwide fellowship of national churches called the Anglican Communion. As such, we are anchored in a faith tradition that stretches back to the original Apostles of Jesus, and has been handed down to us by their successors in every generation. Thus, as an Episcopal Church we are connected not only to Christians who have loved and served the Lord in ages past, but also to those throughout the world who accept the call to be the Body of Christ on earth in this present time.
Our Local Mission
Grace Church has enjoyed a close relationship with the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan since relocating here in 1846. Our doors are open every day and we strive to serve the people who come inside, regardless of who they are. Our membership has come to represent a diversity of faith backgrounds and people have found here an openness to their viewpoints and a respect for where they are in their walk with God. We seek to maintain this welcoming atmosphere so that all who wish to join our fellowship encounter no unnecessary stumbling blocks in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Clergy and Staff
Our diverse team of staff come to Grace Church from across the country and world. We always enjoy meeting newcomers and hope you will introduce yourself and reach out with any questions you may have about Grace Church.
History
A storied past, a vital and bright future. Grace Church has been part of the fabric of New York City for over 200 years.
Architecture
Our landmark church designed by architect James Renwick, Jr. is open for the public to enjoy seven days per week.

London Link
Since 2023, we have enjoyed a sister parish partnership with St. George’s, Hanover Square as part of the London Link program between the Dioceses of New York and London. We enjoy regular opportunities to virtually connect with the people of St. George’s, and we encourage all parishioners traveling to London to visit St. George’s in-person.
Grace Church School
Grace Church and Grace Church School enjoy a longstanding relationship dating back to 1894, when Grace Church launched a choir school to educate the choristers in the new choir. Over the decades, the school has grown and evolved from a boarding school for a few dozen boys to what it is today: a coeducational Episcopal day school enrolling approximately 800 students in grades junior kindergarten through 12. Yet, the school remains true to its founding purpose in that it is the primary source of singers for the Boys’ and the Girls’ choirs of Grace Church. The relationship is truly something to celebrate. Both church and school enrich the lives of each other.
